Photo of the Day: Wilhelm Frederich Gehle

Wilhelm “William” Frederick Gehle (1852-1916) is Katharine’s second great-grand uncle. The son of Friedrich Christian Dietrich Gehle and Lisette Christine Sophie Prange Gehle was one of at least none children. William was born in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. After moving with his parents and siblings to Fayette County, Illinois, he married Augusta Albrecht on 8 August 1878. They lived inLone Grove, Illinois, where he would farm for the rest of his life. The couple were the parents of at least five children: Clara, Theodore Max, John William, Otto Carl, and Martin Louis.

William is buried in Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Saint Paul, Fayette County, Illinois.
